Wow. British soul act, recently made an appearance on Jools holland, whilst my boy Zane Lowe has unveiled him today as one of the acts that constitutes BBCR1 sound of 2012. Expect to see more of this guy.

He will be playing at the Cluny, Newcastle in February. Lexa and myself will be there; any other takers?

Switchblade Smile

Kasabian are back with new music. Fantastic! This is their first single titled Switchblade Smile from their forthcoming album, due for release in September, Velociraptor.

This song was first aired on BBC Radio 1 on Zane Lowe's show on the 7th of June. Guitarist Serge said the band took their inspiration from a Morgan Freeman's interview from the 50's where on the outside is a smile but somewhere on the inside is the madness of the man.

I can’t wait to hear more from this album. Peaches.

huw stevens pointed me towards this the other night when standing in for zane. irish trio funeral suits. tracks called 'colour fader'. obvious influences include mgmt & temper trap. a lovely song. looking forward to hearing more of these. album release date unknown as yet but will be this year.
