Frank Ocean getting all nostalgic.

Fair play to Frank for coming out about this; his work isn't the only thing thats changing the urban music culture.

OFWGKTA - oldie

An impromptu behind the scenes video performance of 'oldie' (on a scheduled Terry Richardson shoot)  includes the 'release' of Earl swearshirt. You can say whatever you want about odd future, but you cant deny their flow, their style, and and their following. A new era for hip hop.

tang golf

tang golf is the new track from odd future's hodgy beats & domo genesis. using none other than GZA's 4th chamber from the classic liquid swords album as the perfect backdrop. odd future will be playing on the nme stage on sunday at the upcoming leeds festival. definitely worth checking out. Tee

frank ocean - nostalgia, ultra.

i came across this about a week ago & finally listened this morning. basically frank ocean, an in demand song writer & member of odd future (an la hip hop collective), has self-released his solo lp after hitting some trouble with his record company. i wasn't expecting much as i'd heard nothing about him or ofwgkta, but i was pleasantly surprised. the album is an up-beat take on the current r&b climate with some well known, easy to spot samples thrown in. definitely worth a listen. get it here.
