Josh Pyke - Live

Josh Pyke, a very popular man in Australia but not so much in the UK, however i wasnt complaining whaen i got to see him with just 50 others in a basement bar in Glasgow (for about £8 aswell). He has a very relaxed acoustic sound, citing many beach and summer references in his more popular stuff but listen to one of his many albums and youll hear much more from him.

His latest album 'Only Sparrows' was released at the back end of 2011 with a couple of very catchy tracks but if youre looking for some of his more popular songs, go with 'The Middle' or 'The Summer'. After his spell in the UK he went back to Australia (where he was nominated for 3 ARIA's for 2011) to perform in various summer festivals. Peaches.

Gig Watch

Friday, October 14th, Digital, Newcastle - Ghostpoet. Not a usual genre of music i would find myself in attendence of, however he comes highly recommended from JACques and the man has never lead me astray. I will be attending this gig with an open mind and fresh from thoroughly enjoying (and purchasing) 'Survive It'.

The second gig i would like to give special mention to is, Josh Pyke, performing at Glasgow's Nice 'n' Sleazy for a meagre £7.50. It would be rude not to. Coming all the way from Sydney, Australia, Josh brings a feel good acoustic sound with some excellent lyrics to match. Give this a listen and consider joining me if you're in the area.
