A matter of minutes ago, Alt J were crowned the Barclaycard Mercury Prize Award winners for their album An Awesome Wave.
They beat out some other fantastic acts such as Lianne La Havas and Michael Kiwanuka, favourites of ours here at the blog, but its thoroughly deserved. All the acts nominated are doing something totally different in music these days, bringing originality and vintage styles. Alt J join past winners like The XX and Arctic Monkeys in the record books and will surely only go from strength to strength. Well done lads.
