Kiwanuka AND The Staves

Michael Kiwanuka toured recently and the tickets went like hot cakes! I missed the inital rush but when i saw that The Staves were supporting, i had to make it happen, so i managed to acquire tickets on Ebay for just £1 over face value, not bad!

The gig took place in Edinburgh's Electric Circus, cappacity 200, a great number to see these kind of up and coming artists, i fully believe they could both be massive!
The Staves were cute, smiley and vocally outstanding, i could listen to them for hours. They captured the audience from the minute they opened their mouths and no one lost focus or attention. If angels sang, theyd sound like these girls.

Now for the main event, Mr Kiwanuka. Fantastic, every member of his band reeked of cool. He nailed every vocal and he warmed up to the crowd as his set went on, allowing us into his mind. He played some of his individual music, aswell as banging out soulful songs such as 'Tell Me a Tale' and 'I Need Your Company' with the help of the band. All rounded off with a cover of 'I Don't Know' by Bill Withers, a gentleman which many people have likened him to.

The Stave's album comes out on the 9th of July and Kiwanuka's is available now! Thank you to them both, for touring together and hats off to them for a gig to remember. Peaches.
