50's attire; the tree of life; bradley p.

i have always appreciated the fine detail, thought, consistency, clean cut, well groomed nature of the 50's man. This has returned to the forefront of my thoughts with the release of The Tree of life - starring Brad Pitt (not a bad wearer of clothes). the film recently won the Palm d'or at Cannes and after watching it on friday it can only be described as a piece of art, which must be said, the reaction it received at the quirky tyneside cinema (Newcastle, UK) was in keeping with its reaction at cannes (mix of applause and jeering).
Nevertheless I thoroughly enjoyed it and have regained my love for 50's attire. i will be incorporating some ideas into my own outfits.

well groomed; haircut every saturday, high burners & a shave every day. back to basics; a good shirt, a good pair of trousers and shoes on a day-to-day basis. neutral palette; beiges, whites, greys. classic; a fine gentleman's watch.

JACques.
