yohji yamamoto at the v&a

This is one i am very excited about. opened on the 12th march until the 10th june, the highly infuential yohji yamamoto is showcasing his work in his very first uk solo exhibition at the v&a in london. following his exhibitions in florence, paris and antwerp, this is his first to execute menswear. The exhibition consists of 80 garments invluding key collaborations from his 30 year career. For those not familiar with his work, yamamoto became internationally recognised in the early 80s for challenging the traditional take on fashion by designing oversized and unfinished garments playing around with gender. The majority of his work consists of the colour black in which he describes as 'modest and arrogant at the same time.' I'l leave you with a few of my personal favourite from previous collections.
