Julian Beever is an English chalk artist who has been creating trompe l'oeil (French for 'deceive the eye') chalk drawings on pavement surfaces since the mid-1990s. The art technique involves realistic imagery in order to create the optical illusion that the depicted objects appear in three dimensions.
